My husband just finished his first month at a new job. He’s based in San Francisco but the company is headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand. Years ago the four of us (Doug, the two boys and me) to the South Island of New Zealand, encountering snow in Christchurch (yes, it was June in NZ; we knew it could be wintry but we didn’t pack many sweaters or mittens), weathering a near concussion when our younger son fell off the arm of the sofa at a bed-and-breakfast, scrambling up Franz Josef Glacier ( hat same little boy moving as quickly as a gazelle), contemplating but not going through with bungee jumping in Queenstown, touring an underwater aquarium at Milford Sound, and vowing, adamantly, to return. So now trips down under are at our fingerips! In April I’ll join Doug for about 10 days: Easter weekend where we’ll tour some of the nature preserves outside Auckland and the following weekend (after a week of work in Wellington) visiting Marlborough South at the tip of the South Island. Very excited! Photographs absolutely.
